Black Sabbath Tour : 28 – 30 April 2016

black sabbath

It’s the Beginning of The End.

It started nearly five decades ago with a crack of thunder, a distant bell ringing and then that monstrous riff that shook the earth. The heaviest rock sound ever heard.

In that moment Heavy Metal was born, created by a young band from Birmingham, England barely out of their teens.

Now it ends, the final tour by the greatest Metal Band of all time, Black Sabbath. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible Black Sabbath story.

Black Sabbath’s farewell tour, The End, begins January 2016 in the USA and lands in New Zealand April 2016 – performing at Auckland’s Vector Arena on April 28, followed by Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr stadium on April 30 – and it promises to surpass all previous tours with their most mesmerizing production ever.

When this tour concludes, it will truly be The End, the End of one of most legendary bands in Rock ’n’ Roll history… Black Sabbath.

Danny Brown @ The Powerstation : 21 Apr 2016

Danny BrownThe term “artist” is thrown around very freely, but few rappers epitomize the term better than Detroit legend Daniel Dewan Sewell, A.K.A. Danny Brown. Known for crossing a number of genre boundaries, Brown operates in a totally individual zone, bridging new and old sounds. His persona comes across as eccentric and avant-garde, largely due to his sartorial style and attention grabbing sense of humour.

Dedicated to his craft from an early age, Brown solidified his status as an emerging star in 2012 with the release of his critically acclaimed album XXX, however it wasn’t until the release of his third studio album, Old in 2013 that Brown truly entered the spotlight. Featuring massive collaborations with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Purity Ring and Schoolboy Q, Old was hailed as one of the premier hip-hop releases of 2013.

The album debuted at number 17 on the US Billboard 200, selling 15,000 copies in the first week. Soon after, Brown embarked on a massive tour across North America with partners in crime A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator and Vince Staples.

Brown is currently putting the finishing touches on his latest studio album, but he is also grinding away at another more unusual project: a Dr. Seuss inspired children’s book dedicated to his 13 year old daughter.

Don’t miss this opportunity to witness Danny Brown, the rambunctious rapper getting wild this April!

L-Acoustics KS28 and LA12X

L_Acoustics_KS28Interested in learning more about the #KS28 reference subwoofer and #LA12X future-ready amplified controller, newly launched at Prolight + Sound 2016? Enjoy this short video : L-Acoustics KS28 and LA12X

The KS28 is a reference subwoofer designed to extend the
frequency response of large format systems. The KS28 features
two high excursion, 18’’ direct radiating transducers mounted
in a bass-reflex tuned enclosure. The optimized L-Vents laminar
vented port reduce turbulence and port noise at high levels
while also increasing LF efficiency.
The KS28 operates from 25 Hz. The excursion capability of
the transducer, combined with L-Vents contributes to deliver
a high SPL, with low distortion. The KS28 can offer standard
or cardioid directivity, by combining physical deployment and
the suitable preset.

The KS28 is the first L-Acoustics enclosure to fully utilize the
LA12X amplified controller power. The LA12X ensures advanced
crossover functions, linearization and L-Drive protection of
the transducers. Its onboard library offers standard and cardioid
presets, each available with two low-pass filters to accommodate
various coupling conditions and LF contour requirements.

Asking Alexandria @ The Powerstation : 5 Apr 2016

Asking AlexandriaBritish metal band ASKING ALEXANDRIA are set to return with new frontman, Denis Stoff, visiting New Zealand for the first time since February 2014.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this tour,” says guitarist Ben Bruce on the announcement of world tour. “We are back and we truly are better than ever. This tour is going to be absolutely insane and we can’t wait to see you all out there. See you soon.”

Joining the band at the show will be US metal act Blessthefall and Australia’s Buried in Verona.

UK metal band, ASKING ALEXANDRIA, with chugging guitars and alternating singing/screaming vocals set to work in 2008 with a new line-up on a touring blitz of the US with bands like Alesana, the Bled, and Evergreen Terrace and released their first album in 2009, Stand Up and Scream. The band would find mainstream success in 2011 with the release of their sophomore album, Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at number nine on the Billboard charts. They returned in 2013 with a more mature hard rock sound, smoothing off some of the metal and electronica influences, resulting in their more focused third album, From Death to Destiny, which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200.

BLESSTHEFALL, the Arizona quintet known for their explosive live show, continue to prove themselves as one of the most respected frontrunners in the metal community and have spent years building a strong foundation and legion of devoted fans throughout their impressive career of over a decade – but they’re not done yet. Since forming in 2003, Blessthefall have issued His Last Walk (2007), Witness (2009), Awakening (2011), andHollow Bodies (2013) which hit #15 on the Billboard Top 200. Performing at their highest level on their new album To Those Left Behind (September 2015), the band sets up the album to highlight not only the metal genre in itself, but quality musicianship as a whole.
